Template Creator
The Template Creator is the core tool in Formstamper. It lets you upload a fillable PDF, visually map form fields to data columns, configure output naming, and stamp documents at scale.
How It Works
1. Upload a PDF Template
The Template Creator accepts fillable PDFs — documents that contain AcroForm fields (text inputs, checkboxes, radio buttons, etc). These are the fields that Formstamper will populate with your data.
2. Visual Field Detection
Once uploaded, Formstamper automatically:
- Detects all interactive form fields in the PDF.
- Reads their types (text, checkbox, radio button).
- Displays them as interactive overlays on the PDF preview.
You'll see each field highlighted with its original AcroForm name. Click any field to open the mapping configuration.
3. Map Fields to Data
For each field, you choose one of three value types:
| Value Type | Description | Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| Dynamic | Populated from a data column at stamp time | Tenant name, address, amount owed |
| Static | Uses a fixed value for every generated document | Landlord name, company phone number |
| Ignore | Field is left blank / untouched | Unused sections of the form |
4. Configure and Stamp
Once mapping is complete, import your data file, set a naming pattern, and click Stamp to generate documents.
